Çanakkale Arı Yetiştiriciliği Birliği üyeleri Biga ilçesinde bir araya geldi.
Törenin açılış konuşmasını yapan Birlik Başkanı Cahit İleri, arıcılarında arı gibi bir araya gelmesini düşündüklerini ve bu nedenle 2003 yılında birliği kurduklarını anlattı. İleri, "Arı gibi birlik olalım hem bal yapalım hem de yaşayalım dedik.
Çanakkale arıcılığını bir kaç basamak yukarıya çıkartmak ve küçük arıcılarımızı kalkındırmak amacı ile İl Tarım ve Orman Müdürlüğümüzün açmış olduğu ihaleyi alarak 5 bin 750 kovanı 398 küçük ölçekli arıcıya dağıttık. Özellikle Çanakkale arısının olmasına dikkat ettik. Çünkü her canlı yaşadığı bölgede kıymetli. 2006 yılında bal paketleme projesini hayata geçirdik.
Arıburnu markasını 52 satış noktası 4 toptancımıza satıyoruz. Biz, Ezine Gıda Organize Sanayi Bölgesine geçmek istiyoruz. TANAP Projesi kapsamında arı keki bal mumu işleme tesisini ihale aşamasına getirdik. Biga'da küçük sanayi içerisinde kurulacak olan tesisimiz, Çanakkale bölgesinin tüm bal ihtiyacını karşılayacak kapasite olacak. Burada üretilen kek ve petekleri servis edeceğiz.
Damızlık arı üretim projemizi de Gökçeada 'da gerçekleştireceğiz. Püren balı arıya da faydalı bizlere de faydalı. Özellikle pürenlik alanların korunmasını istiyoruz" dedi. İl Tarım ve Orman Müdürü Erdem Karadağ'da konuşmasında ilde bin 500 arıcının 79 bin kovan ile bin 750 ton civarında bal üretimi gerçekleştirdiğini söyledi. Çanakkale'nin, Türkiye ortalamalarının çok üzerinde olan bir kovan verimine sahip olduğunu vurgulayan Karadağ, "Verim kadar kalite daha ön plana çıkmalı. Baldan elde ettiğimiz gelir 25 milyon lira.

Kriterimiz, 30 kovanın altında kovanı olacak arıcımızı Bakanlığımızın vermiş olduğu desteklemelerden faydalandırmaktı" diye konuştu. Çanakkale arıcılığının geliştirilmesi projesine katkı sunanlara plaket ve belgeleri takdim edildi.
